Our Double Wool Duvet Range

Each double wool duvet inner, also listed as king single since both beds take the same 180 x 210cm size, is filled with pure New Zealand wool and cased in 100% cotton cambric, 290 thread count. The cotton is treated with Sanitized® Mintactiv, a peppermint-derived finish that resists dust mites and odour, and the wool is Buy NZ Made certified, proudly made in our Dunedin factory, with every duvet inner backed by a five-year guarantee on workmanship and quality.

The range runs from a 150gsm summer weight through a 350gsm autumn weight to a 500gsm winter weight, with a Four Seasons duvet that combines the autumn and summer layers together for cooler months. In this size, the 500gsm winter weight weighs around 3.1kg, giving it settled substance without the bulk of a down duvet. For a lighter fibre at a similar warmth, our double alpaca wool duvets use the same size range.

Double Wool Duvet FAQs

  • Yes. In New Zealand, double and king single beds share the same duvet dimensions, so one 180 x 210cm wool duvet inner fits either bed size.

  • Choose the 500gsm winter weight for the coldest months, or the Four Seasons option if you would rather not switch duvets as the seasons change. The 150gsm summer weight and 350gsm autumn weight suit milder conditions.

  • A double bed is usually designed for one sleeper, so most couples find a queen or king sized wool duvet gives noticeably more room. If you and a partner run at different temperatures, two single wool duvets placed side by side can also work well.

  • No. We also stock double alpaca wool duvets, double duck down duvets and double goose down duvets for a lighter, loftier feel. Our duvet buying guide can help you weigh up sizes and fills, or get in touch directly.
